Permasteelisa SpA
, has been listed on the Milan Stock Exchange since 1999 and is the holding company of the Permasteelisa Group, the world leader in the engineering, manufacturing and installation of architectural envelopes (curtain walls) for large buildings, internal partitions and furnishing systems.

Set up in 1973 in Vittorio Veneto, near Treviso, where its HQ still is today, the Permasteelisa Group enjoyed strong growth and international expansion during the 1990's as a result of world-level acquisitions. Today, Permasteelisa operates on four continents with almost 50 companies in 26 countries, 15 production facilities and more than 6000 employees, and its orders in 2007 were close on 1.5 billion euro - a record figure.

Permasteelisa works in close cooperation with some great names in contemporary architecture - from Frank Gehry to Sir Norman Foster - providing them with unique, high-technology solutions than can bring the most ambitious architectural dreams to life.

Among Permasteelisa's projects are some world-renowned contemporary architectural works, such as the Sidney Opera House (the first building to make extensive use of the curtain walls), the revolutionary Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the extraordinary Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles (both designed by Frank Ghery), the Museum of Modern Art in New York and . In March 2008, Permasteelisa won the contract to build Tower 2 of the World Trade Center in New York

Permasteelisa is able to pursue a policy of constant innovation thanks to its four R&D centres and to cooperation with highly-acclaimed international universities. The company develops and applies innovative eco-compatible technologies that permit significant energy saving and the utmost occupant comfort. In fact, steady investments in R&D have led to the production of novel solutions that effectively respond to the questions posed by security and eco-compatibility - for instance Bomb Blast®, which reduces the blast's effect on the facade, and Blue Technology®, which allows for an approximately 20% energy saving with respect to conventional solutions.
